On March 14, 2003, my sister Jackie and I had the pleasure of driving up to the Bay Area to visit Dave and Angela Carlson and their new baby, Sonja Dagny Davidsdottir and attend the Naming Ceremony.
The baby girl is beautiful and stole hearts left and right throughout the evening! The parents were beaming with pride and love and it showed very clearly.
I won’t name everyone in attendance from the Asatru community, I’m sure I’d miss someone and hurt feelings would ensue. Members of various Kindreds and organizations attended and joined in the pledge to raise this child in our community with wisdom, love and guidance. The parents invoked the deities to each lend their special gifts in this child's life and the parents pledged to raise the child with love.
